What’s cookin’?

Christmas morning can be a bit hectic over here. About half way through opening gifts, someone starts saying, “I’m hungry!!!” Once thing I’ve learned over the years is that the best thing to do for Christmas morning breakfast is an easy, make ahead casserole or a quick throw-it-all-together recipe. If you can make it the night before and not make a mess in the kitchen on Christmas morning that you have to clean up, that is the best option. Here are 5 Christmas Morning Breakfast Ideas. I hope you find one you will try!

1. Christmas Breakfast Casserole by Lil’ Luna

Sausage, egg, bread and cheese? Yes, please. This super simple recipe feeds up to 12 people. Serve with some fresh fruit or yogurt! Delicious. Check out the step by step instructions and a video: https://lilluna.com/christmas-breakfast-casserole/

2. Sausage Balls Recipe via The Kitchen Magpie

Christmas breakfast

This has been a staple in my family for years. Christmas mornings, brunch before church, baby showers, you name it. We love sausage balls. They are quick and easy and can feed a crowd. Using Bsquick makes this recipe a cinch. You can find the recipe here: Sausage Balls Recipe.

3. Monkey Bread from Self Proclaimed Foodie

Got a sweet tooth? This Monkey Bread will hit the spot. Warm, gooey, cinnamon and sugar. What’s not to like? This recipe uses canned biscuits because who has time to make it from scratch. Not me. Don’t be a hero. This Monkey Bread never lasts in my house. My kids and husband devour it. Maybe your family will enjoy it as much as we do. Here is the recipe: Granny’s Monkey Bread. There is even a video for the visual learners (like me).

4. French Toast Casserole by Sally’s Baking Addiction

Christmas Breakfast

Sally’s Baking Addiction is one of my favorite recipe websites. Her recipe’s are always delicious. I haven’t made this one before but I am thinking this may be the Christmas casserole I make this year! Bacon and fresh fruit would be my sides of choice. I love French toast but it is kind of a pain to make for more than just a couple of people at a time. I can’t wait to try this one: Baked Cream Cheese French Toast Casserole.

5. Snickerdoodle Coffee by Joanna Gaines

Christmas Breakfast

I know this isn’t a food recipe but Lord have mercy, this coffee is scrumptious. Every once in a while I will make my husband and I a “fancy” coffee at home. I have made this one several times and we love it! It doesn’t take a lot of effort but it makes you feel like a real Starbucks Barista as you whip up the specialty coffee of you Christmas morning dreams. So, while your kids are sipping their OJ or chocolate milk, enjoy your snickerdoodle coffee and thank me later. Get the recipe here: Snickerdoodle Coffee.

Merry Christmas!

Remember the true reason for the season, the birth of Jesus Christ:

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
